ABOUT
GOHD Books Private Language Tuition offers individual and group lessons, all held at 5A Pasir Panjang Close.
Our tutors come from across the globe and are all native speakers of the languages they teach. All of them hold at least a Degree, and many are postgraduates who specialise in teaching their native language to foreigners. Thus, our tutors are able to teach linguistics and theoretical aspects of languages, in addition to lessons centred on conversation and communication.
GOHD is also the only place in Singapore that holds courses in the Classical Languages. Currently, we offer Classical Chinese and Sanskrit, and introduce students to historical, literary, religious and philosophical texts.
Each class is held either once or twice weekly, either individually or in groups. Rates vary according to the language and group size.

Ancient Greek, Latin
Our Ancient Greek and Latin courses are conducted by Tai Yu Hsiang, who holds a degree of Master of Arts in Latin and Greek from
the
Department of Classics of the University of Glasgow. He has a keen
interest
in the democratic institutions of classical Greece, especially in the
classical perceptions of such. He is not only passionate about languages,
but even more so about sharing the knowledge of these languages.
Rates:

Chinese and Classical Chinese (Basic, Intermediate, Advanced)
Our Chinese classes (written, spoken) are conducted by mainland Chinese teacher/scholar Si Qiuxie (Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Chinese As A Second Language from Beijing Language and Cultural University), who is currently pursuing postgraduate studies in the same field. She has taught extensively in institutions such as Shaanxi Normal University, Civil Aviation Management Institute of China (Beijing) and the National University of Singapore, where she recently won the Best Teaching Assistant Award.
Rates:
Basic, Intermediate, Advanced Chinese: $50 per hour (individual), $30 per hour (2 or more), $15 per hour (5 or more)
Classical Chinese: $65 per hour (individual), $40 per hour (2 or more), $20 per hour (5 or more)

Hindi, Sanskrit
Our Hindi and Sanskrit lessons are conducted by Rahul Joshi, a native Hindi speaker, who was born in Pune, Maharashtra, and has lived in Singapore for 17 years. Holding a BSc from the University of Southern California while pursuing a minor in Philosophy, he speaks English, Marathi, Hindi, and French, and has studied Sanskrit, Chinese and Japanese. A writer, designer and photographer by profession, he has had vast teaching experience, including lecturing in Art and privately tutoring French and Sanskrit. He studied Sanskrit under Dr. Piergiogio Muzi, who holds PhDs in Linguistics and Philosophy and is an expert in Indo-European languages (Sanskrit, Greek, Latin).
Rates:

Sanskrit: $60 per hour (individual), $40 per hour (2 or more), $20 per hour (5 or more)

Italian
We have a pool of Italian tutors, all of whom are from Italy and hold degrees in various fields. They have experience teaching Italian in educational institutions, such as polytechnics, as well as to corporate clients. Many of them have studied the Classics, majoring in Italian literature.

Our French classes are conducted by Delphine Bernard, a French artist based in Singapore. Delphine holds a degree in French Literature, and has worked as a journalist and anchorwoman in Paris. Lessons on Monday only.
